I know when a person hurts you, forgiveness is so freaking hard. Especially when that person betrayed you, treated you bad or lied to you bigtime. You became frustrated, down and full of hatred. Forgiving them and forgetting whatever they did to you are definitely not in your options. Right?
So you think of having a revenge just to get even. You want them to feel the pain that you went through just because you thought they deserve to feel it. You even want to destroy them, even curse them to death.
But, do you really see that as a solution?
I know for a fact that our emotions usually take control when we’re mad. We even do stupid decisions and actions when we are damn mad. We don’t think of the consequences as well. All we wanted was to get even.
But what if you choose to let go of all the hatred and start giving yourself the opportunity to be healed? I know it isn’t that easy, but what if we let go of all the bitterness and choose to forgive?
Why not leave it up to God?
Because when you let go, God will definitely give you peace and contentment.
As what the bible says,
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19
Sometimes, the key to living a happy and peaceful life is forgiveness. Revenge only delays your chance of being a better person. Forgiveness can mean to starting a new chapter of you and the other person’s life. Forgiveness is having your own freedom.
Revenge only weighs you down. But when you choose to forgive, you grow.
If God can forgive us, then who are we to not forgive those people? We are all sinners, we are unclean, we make a lot of mistakes but God choose to forgive us. Always. God forgives even we don’t deserve His forgiveness.
cliché, but we need to let go and let God be the judge. Yes, we cannot control those people who hurt us but we can control our feelings, our reaction and our decisions.
Just let it be. Remember God’s promises and God’s love. He will take care of it, we just have to let God take control.
We all deserve a new beginning. We deserve happiness and love.
Love those people who hurt you. Love yourself. Yes, just choose love.
Love because you deserve to be loved too. Love because God loves you. And that is more important that revenge.
